COOK IS THE TARGET

The Australian right arm fast bowler Peter Siddle has made it clear that Alastair Cook is going to be the target for the Kangaroos during the upcoming Ashes series.

When the Ashes series was played in Australia in 2010-11, Cook had scored the most number of runs for England. He had been a headache for the Australian bowlers in almost every game of the series. So, the Aussies are very careful this time around. They reckon that if they get Cook out early, it will not be easy for the England team to recover and that’s why, they have made special plans for the English skipper.

Yesterday, both the England and the Australian team reached Brisbane where the first test match of the upcoming Ashes series is going to be played. A player from each of the two camps had to come to talk to the reporters and from the Australian camp; it was Siddle who was given that responsibility.

When Siddle was asked if it’s Michael Carberry whom the Australian bowlers will look to target in the series, his answer was no. The 29 years old Victorian said, “It’s Alastair Cook who is the danger man and we are going to target him. If we get his wicket early on, we will be able to put a huge amount of pressure on the England team.” You’ll be able to bet on whether Cook can cope with the pressure on the live betting at williamhill.

When asked if he thinks that Carberry will be under pressure if he gets the opportunity to open for England in the first test match, Siddle said, “Yes, I think so. He will be a bit nervous and we will try to take advantage of that.”

Carberry had played his first test match against Bangladesh a few years back and that’s the only test match that he has played so far in his career.
